Books Inc. and Hoover Elementary Present... Natasha Yim!
Prolific author Natasha Yim will be Zooming into Hoover classrooms to celebrate her latest picture book Luna's Yum Yum Dim Sum, as well as answering student questions and talking about her journey as a writer.
About the author: Natasha Yim was born in Malaysia, grew up in Singapore and Hong Kong, and now lives in California. She is the author of many picture books, including Goldy Luck and the Three Pandas, The Rock Maiden, and Mulan's New Year.
Book Description: On Luna's birthday, the whole family goes out for dim sum--but Luna and her brothers can't agree on how to share their pork buns fairly. How can three people divide up five buns? Should some siblings get more than others? Or should they cut the buns into smaller and smaller pieces so everyone gets the same amount? A playful exploration of division and fractions, featuring Chinese American characters and a cultural note.
