YANovCon at the Millbrae Library

This free half-day celebration will include panel discussions, author hangouts, and book signings with award-winning, notable, and new YA novelists including:

Peter Brown Hoffmeister, Gloria Chao, Faith Gardner, Katie Henry, Doogie Horner, Ann Jacobus, Kelly Jensen, Kalyn Josephson, Rahul Kanakia, Claire Kann, CB Lee, Gretchen McNeil, Kate O'Shaughnessy, Parker Peevyhouse, Amy Reed, Scott Reintgen, Darcey Rosenblatt, N.H. Senzai, Mathangi Subramanian and more!

Books will be available to purchase on site thanks to our wonderful partnership with Books Inc.!

We are also working with local organizations to provide resources for teens who experience social media and academic-induced anxiety. #overcomeanxiety

Are you a teen writer? We're accepting submissions for our teen short story contest through 12/20. The winner will have a one-on-one session with a YANovCon author.

Anticipated schedule:

  • 12-12:30 Early arrivals, book sale, button and totebag-making, and community fair
  • 12:30-1:55 Opening session
  • 2:05-2:45 1st breakout sessions
  • 3:00-3:40 2nd breakout sessions
  • 4:00-4:50 Author one-on-ones
  • 5:00-5:40 All author book signing

There is ample parking at Millbrae Library, but we highly recommend carpooling and using public transit to reduce your impact on the environment. Millbrae Library is easily accessible via samTrans, Bart, and Caltrain.

One of Books Inc.’s favorite aspects of being booksellers is getting the chance to welcome and host hundreds of authors a year, from house-hold names to local, debut authors and we look forward to continuing to provide the Bay Area with “The Experience You Can’t Download” in our stores when we can assure authors and guests that it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we are working on an exciting list of virtual events for both adults and children and we look forward to exploring this new format with you.
