SMALL ADDS UP

In 2019, shoppers came together to support their local communities more than ever. The 10th Annual Small Business Saturday hit a record high with an estimated $19.6 billion in reported spending.

As with all facets of life, the bookselling industry has been directly affected by Covid-19. For everyone's safety, there are extra steps being taken at our own warehouse (as well as at publishing houses and our book distributor) to be sure packaging of books are done in the safest and most sanitary ways possible. While we are doing our best to fulfill orders as quickly as possible, this does have an affect on usual shipping and packaging times, which may result in delays as things pick up during this holiday shopping season.

In addition, we're doing our best to plan around a supply issue surrounding the two major book printers based in the US: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/27/books/printing-companies-backlog-book...

We are of course committed to getting all orders out as efficiently as possible, but do be aware that shopping early for the holidays is the best way to help ensure that your gift items arrive to you in time for the holiday season.

Thank you so much for supporting Books Inc. during these times, we wouldn't be able to do what we do without your patronage and we truly appreciate each and every customer.

One of Books Inc.’s favorite aspects of being booksellers is getting the chance to welcome and host hundreds of authors a year, from house-hold names to local, debut authors and we are so excited to begin reintroducing the Bay Area with “The Experience You Can’t Download” in our stores with traditional author talks and booksignings. In addition to meet-and-greet author events and standard author talks, we are also continuting virtual author events.

Sales equate success, and as with in-store events, booksales made from an independent bookstore benefit the author, publisher, and lead to future event bookings. Please help us keep the Bay Area the wonderful literary hub that it is by supporting your local Books Inc.
