Book birthday party!!!

Wednesday September 9, 5:00-6:30 (PST)

She’s finally made it into the world: my 20th children’s book, GET UP, ELIZABETH!  Join Shirin Yim Bridges and Amy Novesky, Shirin's editor at Cameron Kids, for a celebratory happy hour and a moderated chat about the author-editor relationship. Ours began in 1998 and has resulted in many projects together. You’ll get insights into the children’s publishing world and how it works, and I’m sure our moderator, Summer Dawn Laurie, previously an editor at Chronicle Books and Tricycle Press, and now a children’s book specialist at Books Inc., will have plenty of gems to add. Plus, Amy has a new book out also: GIRL ON A MOTORCYCLE. So, lots to talk about!

Books Inc. will be co-hosting this happy hour. You’ll be able to order personalized, signed copies of anything Amy and I have ever worked on together. Here’s your chance to whittle down that Christmas list — but as always, no purchase necessary. Just come and have a drink.

One of Books Inc.’s favorite aspects of being booksellers is getting the chance to welcome and host hundreds of authors a year, from house-hold names to local, debut authors and we look forward to continuing to provide the Bay Area with “The Experience You Can’t Download” in our stores when we can assure authors and guests that it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we are working on an exciting list of virtual events for both adults and children and we look forward to exploring this new format with you.

Sales equate success, and as with in-store events, booksales made from an independent bookstore benefit the author, publisher, and lead to future event bookings. Please help us keep the Bay Area the wonderful literary hub that it is by supporting your local Books Inc.
