Opera Plaza @ 2PM - Pablo Hidalgo, creative executive at LucasFilm Story Group, and author of Star Wars: The Force Awakens Visual Dictionary and co-author of Star Wars Character Encyclopedia, Updated and Expanded, releasing in April 2016. This event will feature a visit from members of the Golden Gate Garrison of the 501st Legion and photo ops with Stromtroopers and Kylo Ren will be a part of the fun! A portion of this event's proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Who’s your Rad Woman? – Inviting customers to draw and write about their Rad Woman. Stop by the store in the week leading up to Independent Bookstore Day to submit your Rad Woman. Home-baked treats from recent cookbooks. Mmmm!

1:00 PM – Join the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre for Story Acting! Using familiar stories, improvisation, and creative movement, children leap into action as story characters! Classic children’s books are used to teach children how to use their bodies and voices to create fun and familiar characters. (Suggested ages: 4-6. Duration: 30 minutes. Space is limited please sign up at Books Inc. Palo Alto.
4:00 PM – It’s going to be a honkin’, quakin’ good time with Duck & Goose Storytime! We’re celebrating the latest Duck & Goose story, Duck & Goose, Let’s Dance by Tad Hills, with a special storytime featuring Lauren Savage. Lauren will perform the song that she wrote for the newest Duck and Goose book “Duck and Goose Let’s Dance.” (Ages 3+)
Throughout the day – Raffle giveaways including two tickets to a Children’s theater production. Plus, a Selfie Station and Poetry station!

2:00 PM – Join in on the coloring book trend with a brand new take that is sure to become a favorite with Alameda's Paint-By-Sticker Hour! As in paint-by-number, each template is divided into dozens of spaces, each with a number that corresponds to a particular colored sticker. Find the sticker, peel it, and place it in the right space. Add the next, and the next, and the next it s an activity that’s utterly absorbing as you watch a painting emerge from a flat black-and-white illustration to a dazzling image with color, body, spirit.
