Stacey Abrams was instrumental in driving an enormous number of voter registrations in Georgia, including some 800,000 new voters between the 2018 and 2020 elections. Those voters, in turn, were central to turning Georgia blue in the 2020 presidential election and Senate race. A tax attorney by training, she served eleven years in the Georgia House of Representatives, seven as Minority Leader, and became the 2018 Democratic nominee for governor of Georgia, where she won more votes than any other Democrat in the state’s history. One of Abrams’ many other talents: fiction writing. Her newest legal thriller is While Justice Sleeps. “Stacey Abrams is a true novelist, and While Justice Sleeps is a first-class legal thriller, favorably compared to many of the best, starting with The Pelican Brief, which it brings to mindIt’s fast-paced and full of surprises—a terrific read.”— Scott Turow

One of Books Inc.’s favorite aspects of being booksellers is getting the chance to welcome and host hundreds of authors a year, from house-hold names to local, debut authors and we are so excited to begin reintroducing the Bay Area with “The Experience You Can’t Download” in our stores with traditional author talks and booksignings. In addition to meet-and-greet author events and standard author talks, we are also continuting virtual author events.

Sales equate success, and as with in-store events, booksales made from an independent bookstore benefit the author, publisher, and lead to future event bookings. Please help us keep the Bay Area the wonderful literary hub that it is by supporting your local Books Inc.
