Poetry Tribute to LOWELL A. LEVANT at Books Inc. Berkeley

Books Inc. Berkeley presents a tribute reading honoring the memory of poet Lowell A. Levant, who rose to prominence in Berkeley in the 1960s as a member of the Artists, Musicians, Poets, and Sympathizers Local of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), and studied under notable poet and UC professor Gary Snyder. This evening will be moderated by Lowell's brother, Ron Levant, and will feature readings from the posthumous volume A Poet Drives a Truck. Readers include: John Oliver Simon, Luis Garcia, Will Staple, Doug Palmer, & former California Poet Laureate Al Young.
