Mark A. Noll is Professor of History Emeritus at the University of Notre Dame. His recent publications include In the Beginning Was the Word: The Bible in American Public Life, 1492-1783 (2016); America's God: From Jonathan Edwards to Abraham Lincoln (2002) and, as co-editor, Protestantism after500 Years (2016).
