Chinese New Year
Gung Hay Fat Choy! The San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade and celebration is one of the oldest in the country and dates back to 1858, very close to the date that Anton Roman moved his bookselling business from Shasta City California to San Francisco. That bookselling business eventually became Books Inc. We have shared over 150 years of new years here in SF and feel a particular kinship to the annual celebration and are happy to highlight events that tie into the festivities or exhibit the Chinese culture.
