About the Author
Howard Zinn (1922-2010) was a historian, playwright, and social activist. His many books include A People's History of the United States, which has sold more than two million copies.
Kathy Emery has taught high school history for sixteen years, has a Ph.D. in education from the University of California Davis, and is currently working with Teachers for Social Justice and the San Francisco Organizing Project.
