My new favorite picture book to hand sell. Once I start to describe the plot people just melt! This is the story of Noi, the lonely son of a fisherman who finds a little whale washed ashore after a storm. Of course Noi takes him home, puts him in his bathtub, and shares with the little whale all about his life on the seashore. Noi's father eventually helps him reunite the whale with his family, which in turn brings Noi and his father closer together. The illustrations are so charming with details that add to its sweetness. Make sure to look out for all six cats! (Ages 4+) Reviewed by Samantha S. of Books Inc. Laurel Village

— From Kids Favorites 2014

Every day, in a house by the sea, a little boy watches his father leave for a long day's work. One night, a great storm washes a small whale onto the beach. The boy discovers the whale is a good listener. The father discovers the boy is lonely. Together, they return the whale to the sea. And from that day on, the boy learns that the father can be a good listener too, in Benji Davies's heartwarming tale, The Storm Whale.

Benji Davies is the author and illustrator of The Storm Whale. As a child, he was often found painting at the kitchen table . . . a habit he has continued into adulthood. He lives in London with his wife, Nina.
