Description
Hello. I would like to share with you the most amazing book.
In celebration of the making of The Book of Mormon, the authors, production team, and entire original cast recount their experiences as they grew their show from the initial idea to opening night on Broadway. With the complete book and lyrics annotated by the full creative team and cast, along with more than 700 photographs and illustrations, they share the journey that began one night in a Manhattan bar and culminated seven years later in the achievement that is The Book of Mormon.
About the Author
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of South Park, met Bobby Lopez, the co-creator of Avenue Q, in 2003. That meeting inspired them to create a musical comedy that the New York Times would one day call "the best musical of this century."
Praise for The Book of Mormon: The Testament of a Broadway Musical…
“The best musical of this century. Heaven on Broadway. The Book of Mormon achieves something like a miracle.”
-Ben Brantley, New York Times
“A crowning achievement. A huge smash success. So good it makes me angry.
-Jon Stewart, The Daily Show
“Matt and Trey: Where have you been all my life? The Book of Mormon deserves worship. Approach the altar of Parker and Stone.”
-Peter Marks, Washington Post
The Book of Mormon is not just great theater. [It’s] great writing.”
-Mark Harris, Book of Mormon Script Book, Foreword
“**** the new gold standard for Broadway. The Book of Mormon is on its march into legend. History is made.”
-Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
“The best new musical of the 21st century.”
-Kurt Andersen, NPR
“Surely goes further than any musical in Broadway history. Hilariously profane and wholly hilarious.”
-Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune
“Hilarious, uproarious, and highly entertaining. Parker and Stone may offend thousands if not more, and bless their iconoclastic hearts for it.”
-David Finkle, Huffington Post
